2024-2025 ESE SERVICES
Berean Christian School provides an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) program for students with mild to moderate learning differences or who need extra support to meet grade level requirements. For K5-4th grade, your student can be no more than one year below the grade level they are applying for. For 5th-12th grade, they must be on grade level with accommodations and student academic plan provided.
K5-1st Grade Enrichment (Reading)
This program is for students who currently have an exceptional learning diagnosis, as well as for students who do not have a diagnosis but need intervention service. (5 days per week, 90-minute blocks, during school hours)
2nd-4th Grade Early Intervention - 1 Subject (Math or ELA)
This program is for students who currently have an exceptional learning diagnosis, as well as for students who do not have a diagnosis but need intervention service. (5 days per week, 45-minute blocks, during school hours)
5th-12th Grade- 1 Subject (Math or ELA) + Learning Strategies
This program provides a modified curriculum for students who currently have an exceptional learning diagnosis and need additional help with Reading or Math to meet grade level expectations. This also includes Learning Strategies (see description below). (5 days per week, pull out class for students with diagnosis)
5th-12th Grade- 2 Subjects (Math and ELA) + Learning Strategies
This program provides a modified curriculum for students who currently have an exceptional learning diagnosis and need additional help with Reading and Math to meet grade level expectations. This also includes Learning Strategies (see description below). (5 days per week, pull out class for students with diagnosis)
5th-12th Grade Learning Strategies Only
In grades 5th through 12th grades, we also offer Learning Strategies, a class designed to teach students study skills, organization skills, and a way to provide support in all academic areas. The learning strategies teacher helps students stay focused on upcoming assignments as well as provide accommodations for the students. This class includes accommodations and extended time.
K5-12th Grade Accommodations Only
Accommodations are provided for students based off an IEP/504/SAP who have specified needs attended to, so students can perform to the best of their academic abilities (specific to student).
K5-12th Grade Accommodations with Extended Time
This accommodation is for students who currently have an exceptional learning diagnosis and need additional accommodations within the classroom and need extended time on classroom tests and quizzes. Extended time may be provided before, during, or after school hours.
Speech and Occupational Therapy
Berean provides speech and OT therapy through outside services. These services are provided on Berean’s campus during the school day. This is an additional cost and arranged between the parent and the therapist.
