Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)/K4 Extended Child Development Program

Children who are 4 years old by September 1, 2020, are eligible to re-enroll in Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK). Children re-enrolled in VPK are eligible for a state credit which will pay for 540 instructional hours for the year. To take advantage of this opportunity, the parent/guardian will need to secure a VPK Certificate of Eligibility through the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County. This may be done by going to www.elcpalmbeach.org. Please visit Early Learning Coalition’s website for information regarding other ways to secure the Certificate.

To secure the VPK Certificate of Eligibility, Early Learning Coalition requires the following:
  1.  A copy of your child’s birth certificate.
  2. Proof of the parent/guardian’s Florida residency (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)
Securing the VPK Certificate of Eligibility from Early Learning Coalition does not secure re-enrollment into Berean Christian Preschool.
To re-enroll your child into Berean Christian Preschool, please see the information below.

The state will pay for 540 VPK instructional hours for the 2020-2021 school year. Berean operates VPK, which is considered “free” to the parent who submits the VPK Certificate of Eligibility. We also offer an Extended Child Development program which operates from 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., excluding the VPK hours.

NOTE: Berean’s VPK attendance policy – Children must attend at least 80% of the VPK instructional hours to maintain their enrollment.

The following options are available for children to enroll in Berean’s VPK program:

To initiate your child’s re-enrollment in the VPK only AM program, which operates from 7:30 am – 10:49 a.m., OR the VPK only PM program, which operates from 12:00 p.m. – 3:19 p.m, follow these 2 steps:

  1. Complete the VPK Only AM or PM paper application. The form may be picked up from our Preschool Building. The VPK Certificate of Eligibility from the Early Learning Coalition must accompany the application.
  2. The above must be hand delivered by a financially responsible person to Mrs. Mo Degler or Mrs. Vicki Ingram in the preschool, after which you will be directed to the Business Office for a brief meeting with Mrs. Mickie Lewis.

NOTE: Completing these 2 steps will initiate the re-enrollment process into the VPK only program. You will receive a confirmation email of re-enrollment when the process is complete.
