College Class Taught at Berean

In the 2013/2014 school year Berean Christian School expanded its Dual Enrollment Program (DEP) through a new partnership with Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA). The program is designed to offer high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn college credit for Palm Beach Atlantic courses they take at BCS. In the spring we offered a General Psychology course taught on the grounds by Dr. Olga Rybalkina Dietlin, Associate Professor of Counseling at PBA. Seven students took the class in the spring.  “I am thrilled to be a part of the BCS learning community,” Dr. Dietlin said. "The students in my class impressed me with their enthusiasm for learning, intelligence, relational skills and humility. I look forward to teaching again next year!"

Below are some students’ comments regarding their participation in this program:

"Dual enrolling through PBA has been a fantastic experience! The class offers a challenging (but not overwhelming!) curriculum paired with a small-classroom feel, making it a perfect introduction to college-style learning. Beyond being a great transitioning experience, my psychology class has been an amazing educational opportunity as well. The materials, course work, and level of attention the professor gives to her students make the class really spectacular. This class is awesome, and I'd recommend it to anyone!" (Lauren Pasqua, Class of 2014).

"I'm so happy that General Psychology was presented to me as an option for dual enrollment through PBA- it gave me the opportunity to sample both a subject and university in which I was highly interested." (Sarah Nodell, Class of 2014).

"I have had a lot of fun in this course. It was both inventive and challenging in turn. Psychology is a very intriguing subject matter, and in this class you get a wonderfully broad covering of all the different aspects of it." (Emily Pasqua, Class 2014).

The course will be once again offered in the Fall of 2019. For more information, please contact Kelly Hoback, Director of Admissions and Guidance.
